SILIANO ODUNO founds the band "I and I"
What was a long time coming will finally be a success. The all-round talent Siliano Oduno, photographer and musician, has been working on this project for five years - now it's finally time. Tomorrow, 14th February, the eight-man professional group "I and I", founded by him, will play their big debut concert. Not just anywhere, but in the renowned Tor 3 in Düsseldorf. Music fans can expect a cheerful, danceable mixture of African and European pop.

The group name "I and I" takes its African meaning:
They use " I and I " instead of " we ", meaning " we ". This sense of togetherness is also conveyed by the group's music, a music that, together with reggae, hi-life and funk, turns African and European influences into a melodious, even captivating mix of music. Also, Siliano Oduno, founder and composer of "I and I":
“ I see lively music as a celebration, a language, international understanding and love at the same time. "I and I" demonstrate how important and valuable "foreign" influences are, especially for us Germans". Music is understood worldwide as an international language.
For over 22 years Oduno has been playing drums, later he began playing congas and vibraphone. He has already played in many groups from rock to pop to jazz, but in the last eight years he has played almost exclusively in African / Caribbean bands in northern and southern Germany.
This extensive contact with other cultures ultimately influenced his way of playing. He wrote his new group's compositions entirely by himself. In the last six weeks he has been able to win over outstanding musicians who, through their personality and their own way of playing, give the compositions the necessary soul and liveliness. And finally Siliano Oduno himself, who is known in the Rhineland for his various musical activities. It is remarkable how quickly this new project has gone from 0 to 100. A month and a half ago, the group was founded because "all of a sudden all the signs were good". The first show was rehearsed within an extremely short rehearsal period. The song "la musica es mi mundo" was recorded. Tomorrow you can experience "I and I" live: in Tor 3 on Ronsdorferstraße in Düsseldorf as part of the annual Winter Festival of the Architecture Department of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences for Graphic Design and Architecture.
