Xylophone made from cooking pots

Top-class finale of the "Waldbroeler Music Summer"
by EVALENA PENNER WALDBROEL.

The Protestant church proved to be an optimal acoustic setting at the closing concert of the "Waldbroeler Music Summer". The musicians involved in the project performed again in changing constellations. […]

explained festival manager Norbert Sell in an interview. […]

Extravagant guitar music

Stefan Sell showed virtuosity on the guitar: The Nuremberg musician performed excerpts from his solo show "Extravaganzas for guitar" in Waldbroel: Nervously flowing tone sequences, interrupted by striking accents.

Siliano Oduno, who experiments musically with household appliances, also has this rhythm in his blood. Using two beaters, he elicited xylophone-like timbres from upside down cooking pots, which Michael Reimann skilfully recorded on the grand piano.

One after the other, the other musicians joined Reimann to create dynamic sounds. The audience gave enthusiastic ovations to the performers for a top-class event, which will continue in tradition next year.
